Post subject: Sharing something

I've made a video because a friend asked me what I mean when I say "I was bored and so I continued coding a little":

Video

I thought to share it here just to show what is possible.
I am aware that this video is sort of provoking questions about releasing these tools: No, not right now. Especially the 3DI importer will never see the daylight.
An ase exporter Maxscript, which mimics the NL 3DSMax plugin for Max 5, is currently in "field testing" and will be released soon.
It features the export of bones and weights, so making it possible to create characters using a skeleton and skin modifiers.
Oh, and it is generating LODs automatically (for the lazy people Wink ).
Why LODs ? Well, nearly every one modding the game doesn't care about LODs. I have found 3DIs with 15000 faces but just a single LOD. So the game engine needs to render these 15000 face even if the model is just 4 pixels in size on screen ... senseless.

Hi and Welcome DH.
Dancing Girls lol, well done m8.
Thanks for sharing some of your talents, as you know we will all be looking forward to any tools you release even if it's not the 3di exporter lol.

Hope you had a great Xmas and have a great New Years party2

Hi DareHacker,
It.s great to see you are still around this old classic game. I have seen some of your creations over the years and have used your Mod tools.

DareHacker have you ever done any editing of the exe files in DFBHD. I was looking for someone to expand the Item count for the TIOcoop Mod exe. Also I needed someone to unlock A.Bullets Mission Editor (Med) and make it available to use with the TIOcoop Mod.

Thankyou for all your time and effort you have given to the Delta Force Community.

Hi,

well, I recall I did something like that for the terranova exp mod ages ago. I had patched a number value in dfbhd.exe to increase the size of the memory allocated for items.def (I think the memory was even shared for items and ammo but I am not sure at the moment). I'll have a look if I still have some notes or something in my old backups later.
For the Med and unlocking it ... that was not 'my construction site' unfortunately so I have no idea how that was done.

Edit: Have sent a PM
